Week 2: photo la (22nd international la photographic art expo) + intro class

Hello all!

This week we will be going to photo la, held this year at the Santa Monica Civic Auditiorium from January 17 to 21. Tickets are available online or at the door (General Admission: $15 online, $20 at door for students). With over 60 exhibitors and additional programming (we spotted Art in Fashion led by Vogue Photography Director Ivan Shaw, as well as programming on the current Mapplethorpe exhibits at LACMA and the Getty), it’s hard to not be tempted by this expo, no matter what level of photographer you are. For the pros out there, as part of photo la is the emerging focus expo with seminars on topics such as creative portraiture, flash photography, and postprocessing. Tickets are available here.

If you are attending the event with the Photography Club, please pre-purchase your tickets, or prepare to pay the door price. As the event runs 11am – 7pm, we will be meeting up at 10:30am, Saturday, Jan 19th in Ackerman Loop to take the Santa Monica Big Blue Bus to the event. Remember to bring change, as the bus is $0.50 one-way with your BruinCard.
